We had a Monday workathon on the shack roof with the help of our friends Geoff & Dale Olsen. Initially we had thought we would take all the iron off and place ceiling insulation and treated plywood, but on inspection it seemed wiser to put the insulation on from the inside and replace the ceilings. The job in the end was to replace 4 sheets of iron, put up new bargeboards on most sides and thereby seal the roof cavity from the rodents who seemed to have enjoyed decades of unimpeded access. That went very well thanks to Geoff’s hard work. Anne and Dale started attaching the chicken wire to the fence on the back boundary to stop rabbits, sheep and any possible escape from an inquisitive corgi.
